The Saturday evening of the 28th of September 2019, was one that was filled with music and much dancing. The audience could not stay on their seats for too long as the musicians graced us with lovely melodies, songs and tunes that had our spirits uplifted and created an ambiance and atmosphere filled with great camaraderie.

Mama Rosie who is the founder of Baphumelele Children’s Home which all of the proceeds of the concert ticket sales will go to, also graced us with her presence, along with the Baphumelele Choir who sang lovely tunes that took the energy of the room and lifted it to the rafters.

We were also serenaded with music from various Gospel artists artist varying from Congo to South Africa and more, thus creating an atmosphere of oneness among Africans which is the message that Tribal Freedom Fighter aims to spread tirelessly. We had live music from the ‘Love &Glory” band and performances by Van Stephy, Joshua Mayika, Siwaphiwe Kweyana, Paul Jazz and none other than Mahalia Buchanan.

As previously mentioned, this was a concert for a good cause, as all proceeds will be given to the Baphumelele Home in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The vision of Baphumelele is to provide a temporary shelter for vulnerable/orphaned children and young adults with chronic diseases and HIV/Aids, and to provide skills development for the unemployed, early childhood care, alleviation of poverty, and healthcare information to the community in Khayelitsha and surroundings, so that the lives of everyone we touch can become more productive and accepted individuals who make a difference within society.

We would like to send a special thank you to Mama Rosie, for being a pillar of strength in her community and for standing in the gap for the many children that are unable to stand for themselves and we wish that the work of her hands would continue to take root on fertile soil and grow to impact many more lives. A special thank you to everyone that bought the tickets in support of this cause, to IK Events Management for putting the event together and allowing us to be part of it as TFF, as well as all the musicians that graced our stage.

Thank you all, may you continue to spread the message of Ubuntu and always remember that We Are One
